Tilicho Base Camp Trek is a majestic experience offering lakeside bliss, cradled among the snow-capped gigantic peaks. Steeped in the serenity of Manang, lies the high-altitude lake Tilicho, whose exploration alongside Annapurna Sanctuary is included in this package of Pure Adventure Nepal. Here you can find yourself on the foot of Tilicho, the highest point in Annapurna Trekking. 

As one challenges the limit, and gradually ascends at 4150, one encounters Tilicho Base Camp, etched in snow. The elusive snow leopard is said to be found in the region, so be part of boundless exposure in the highest point, Tilicho Lake, where hidden reserves and treasures can be exhilarated and embraced.

Day 01

Pure Adventure Nepal team will meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and assist you with your transfer to a hotel. After you get some rest, we will discuss the upcoming plans for the trip in a welcome dinner facility.

Day 02

Your journey begins from Kathmandu, while you drive to Besisahar on a tourist bus. After a short rest, you will take a local jeep to drive to Jagat or Dharapani, based on your convenience. There you will take a refreshing stay and settle into the cozy guesthouse of Jagat or Dharapni.

Day 03

The next day you embark on a 5 to 6-hour trek to reach Chame from Dharapani. On your way out, indulge yourself with the glimpses of snow-capped Annapurna (II, IV) and Lamjung Himal. Finally, you arrive at Chame to rest overnight in the traditional teahouse in the villages of Chame. Lodge,

Day 04

From Chame to Upper Pisang, the overall hike is around 5 to 6 hours on average. Here, you will experience an elevation gain of 600 meters. The crystal clear skies motivate you as you pass with a gradual ascent surpassing the suspension bridges repeatedly. Lodge,

Day 05

From Pisang, your next destination is Manang, where you will witness the largest monastery, Barge Monastery. After 6 to 7 hours of strolling at a comfortable pace, reaching there can feel truly rejuvenating and relaxing. As you approach closer, the Pisang Peak and Annapurna mountain views excite you. Lodge

Day 06

Manang is a perfect place where you can rest and gradually acclimatize to your journey. You get to visit Gangapurna, Bhojo Gampa, and Vraga village, which are some places where you can wander and explore the Annapurna glacier. The vegetation and vistas are different from what you have been observing on the lowlands Lodge,

Day 07

The day has arrived when you head toward Khanger. Tilicho Base Camp is your next target. With early breakfast, you enthusiastically ascend towards it. Traversing through the mesmerizing landscape, dramatic rock foundations, and cascading waterfalls.

Day 08

At a breathtaking altitude of 4,940 meters, lies Tilicho Lake which comes after a steeper and more challenging route. Exhausted from the strenuous climb, the highest altitude lake Tilicho offers something interesting unlike others. Following the step toward mystical water, you finally unveil the glory of the Lake, embrace serenity in the sacred place, and part with a lasting memory.

Day 09

If you choose to go to Lader, it is a less-traveled route. But lead you to yak pastures and raw wilderness, connecting with the glittering views of the Himalayas, like Manaslu and Annapurna II. Lader is a great place to have stunning views of the Annapurna massif at an elevation of 4200 m. Similarly, with an elevation loss of 100 m, there is Yak Kharka, which offers breathtaking vistas of surrounding mountains like Manaslu and Ngadi Chui.

Day 10

Both Thorong Phedi and High Camp are unique choices at an altitude of 4450m and 4870m respectively. It takes about 5 to 6 km to reach High Camp and Thorong Phedi. The trail is comparatively steeper to reach High Camp than the Phedi. With a stipulated time of 3 to 4 hours, one can ascend the regions and have stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I.

Day 11

Thorong la Pass is one of the highest trekking passes in the world with an elevation of 5416 meters. One can have steep climbs and slippery sections, while the challenging pass, offers incredible views of glaciers, valleys, and crystal-clear mountains. 

Now, you step your foot towards Muktinath Darshan, which is about 14 hours away from the pass. As you gradually descend to Muktinath, you can stay at nearby lodges.

Day 12

Beginning early in the morning with breakfast, you make preparations to trek to Kagbeni. You will be staying overnight at Jomsom, after successful trekking. Strolling through the temple region and enjoying the chill weather and sacred aura of the region shall promote serene bliss.

Day 13

After exploring Muktinath Temple, you will now head south on the Jomsom Muktinath road towards Pokhara. Following the trail of Kali Gandaki River, you will be headed to Beni. With the impressive views of a cascading waterfall, Tahini Chhuk, and Rupse Chhu, you pave your way towards Thakali Culture in Beni, where you will have your lunch. As the drive continues, you will follow the route to Pokhara.

Day 14

After enjoying the final moments in Pokhara, it's time to head back to Kathmandu, with a memory of the whole trek. With each turn on the road, you will be reflected on your journey overall. As you share stories, laughter, and scenery in the reminiscing of a trek, be comfortable on the tourist bus to Kathmandu.

Day 15

It's time you return to your respective home from Kathmandu. Pure Adventure team is more than happy to have served you and is looking forward to being part of your next adventure.

Frequently asked questions

Tilicho Base Camp is at an elevation of 4,150 meters (13,615 feet) from the sea level. It is one of the highest base camps in the remote Manang Valley.

 

If you only want to explore Tilicho Lake, the trek usually takes 3 to 4 days., But when you include, the Annapurna circuit trek within it, it may take somewhere between 7 to 15 days, depending on the itinerary plan you opt for.

 

Tilicho Base Camp is at an elevation of 4,150 meters (13,615 feet) from the sea level. It is one of the highest base camps in the remote Manang Valley.

 

With spring ( March to May) and autumn (September to November), weather conditions are more favorable and worth exploring. 

 

If you are looking for a Tilicho Base Camp trek, then, you need to obtain a TIMS permit and an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit) from the Nepal Tourism Board.

 

Tilicho Base Camp requires steady climbs and ascend, with an elevation of 4150m. Hence, some difficulties may arise if a reasonable level of fitness and health condition is not ensured
