Trip Itinerary

Day 01

Our Pure Adventure team will pick you up from the Tribhuwan International Airport after you arrive in Kathmandu. Then, you will be transferred to your respective hotels for accommodation and a welcome dinner. We will simultaneously discuss the scheduled plans for the trip and brief you in the evening.

Day 02

The second day of your trek offers an extra day in Kathmandu, where you can participate in local shopping in the streets of Thamel. From having a walk-through of the historical sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square to exploring religious sites like Boudhhanath, Swayambhunath, and Pashupatinath, you can make the most of your day in Kathmandu.

Day 03

Rise early and have a delicious breakfast in Kathmandu, then fly to Lukla for about 45 minutes. Chasing stunning scenery, you continue your journey with about 3 to 5 hours of trekking to Manju, about 6 to 8 km away from the region. The trail is well-maintained, following the upstream Dudh Koshi River.

Pass on to the Sherpa villages, stop for lunch in Ghat village, and pass through Buddhist monasteries and the Mani wall until you reach teahouses and lodges in Manju. What makes you awe-inspiring are the captivating pictures of Kusum Kanguru and Thamserku Peaks and the astonishing views the final destination of the day offers.

Day 04

Take your time to gain moderate elevation and get to Namche Bazar, the gateway to the Everest Base Camp trek. Ascending through rhododendron forests, you will treat yourself to the eye-catching views of Mt. Kusum Kanguru (6396m). As the trail continues, you will pass by Sagarmatha National Park, show your trekking permit, and pay Sagarmatha’s entry fee before having a short walk to Namche Bazaar.

Day 05

Through the lively streets of Namche Bazaar, you can interact with locals, explore the morning, and wander around to learn more about the Sherpa culture. On your rest day, as you acclimatize, you can also take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel and have views of the sunrise and sunset. The breathtaking vistas of the surrounding peaks and the Everest Massif would complete your day.

Day 06

Everest adventure begins here when you immerse yourself in the panoramic views of the trail. Heading towards Khumjung village from Namche Bazaar, you get attracted to the rustic charm and serene beauty of the Sherpa village. Be ready to witness prayer flags, stone houses, Khumjung monastery, and rich Sherpa art culture as you approach the destination of the day. You will also witness Edmund Hillary School being established by the legendary climber himself.

Day 07

On the following day, you are heading to the peaceful village of Dole, following the yak pastures and the Dudh Koshi River. After an exhausting yet interesting journey up in the diverse Himalayan terrain, you rest, recalling the rich panorama the surrounding villages have to offer, after savoring the flavors of Dole.

Day 08

Today marks the day when you can have a final ascent to Gokyo Valley. This 5-hour trek will begin with a view of the spectacular Gokyo Ri Pass. Below, a turquoise Gokyo Lake is awaiting. A glimpse of the unique life of a Sherpa can be noticed with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. Along the way, you will be able to explore the towering peaks and glaciers. As soon as you reach Machhermo, you can spend your night there, savoring the flavors in the chill atmosphere.

Day 09

The time has come when, when you ascend on the lakes of the Gokyo region, you can have reflecting and crystal-clear views of the lakes of Gokyo. Beyond Gokyo Cho, also known as Dudh Pokhari, other glacial lakes like Longpanga Cho, Ngojumba Cho, Gyazumpa Cho, Thonak Cho, and Tanjung Cho have also been attractions in the Gokyo region.

You can witness aquatic life in the Gokyo region and also encounter wetland birds, wood snipe, common pochard, northern pintail, and other rare species. At an altitude of 4,700 to 5,000 meters, you find majestic Himalayan grandeur as such.

Day 10

You can have an early morning hike to Gokyo Ri Peak, but you will return to the altitude of 4750m in the Gokyo region to spend your night in the available teahouses. Embracing the chill, you can also have an encounter with the 4th lake of Gokyo, which reflects the shades of the sky and snow-capped gigantic mountains.

Day 11

As you trace your way back from Gokyo to Dole, you recall the magnificent experience you had from a different perspective. It typically takes you about 3 to 4 hours, covering an approximate distance of 5 km between Gokyo and Dole.

Day 12

Bid farewell to the village of Dole as the day beckons you with the majestic views of Mt. Lhotse and Ama Dablam on your trail to Phortse. With time to time refueling and snacking, you keep heading toward your destination and, at the same time, enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and expressive views.

Day 13

You set out to trek toward your next destination to reconnect with the rhythm of the mountains and the tranquility of Pangbouche. Each passing step evokes emotion and feelings in you, persuasion, a creative approach, and expectations. Today you will cover a distance of approximately 4.2 km on a well-maintained trail, witnessing the welcoming scenery of Ama Dablam and Lhotse.

Day 14

Be prepared to have a contrasting day while trekking from Pangbouche to Ama Dablam Base Camp. The time has come when you get to witness the raw beauty of Ama Dablam from its base camp itself. After you summon on the views of the mountain and Khumbu Glacier and enjoy the thrill of reaching the destination, you now descend to Tengboche through different routes, Mani walls, and memories.

Day 15

The day's energy began with a nourishing breakfast in the teahouses of Tangboche. Now, the team will prepare to depart for the bustling town of Namche Bazaar. The trail leads you in a welcoming contrast to what you have been experiencing at high altitudes. Revitalize yourself as you approach the Dudh Koshi River and the surrounding valleys of your trek route. The crossing of several suspension bridges and final stretching on your way back to Sherpa houses and villages for about 4 to 5 hours is planned until you arrive at Namche Bazaar.

Day 16

As you leave behind the high altitude and challenging route of the Himalayas, you now trek for 2 to 3 hours before returning to Phakding. Share memories and laughter, and leave no traces as you part with rich memories of exploring the Everest region.

Day 17

The air gets warmer as you approach your final steps in the Himalayas. You encounter a traditional Sherpa village, Phakding, on your way, where you will have your lunch. After resting for some time and bidding farewell to the views of the top, you walk for about 3 to 4 hours before reaching Lukla. The peaceful Dudh Koshi Valley also witnessed you leaving, as you maintained traction on the descent.

Day 18

Keeping memories in your heart and savoring the flavors of the Himalayas for one last time, you board a flight to Kathmandu. You can rest, relax, and perform post-trek massages in the bustling capital of Nepal before you leave for your respective homes.

Day 19

Frequently asked questions

Ama Dablam Base Camp is at an elevation of 4600 m above sea level, in the Khumbu region, along the Dudh Koshi River.

Rock climbing can be difficult on steep sections and requires switchbacks. With proper acclimatization, guidance from tour guides, and belief in yourself, you can conquer the Everest regions like Gokyo Lake and Ama Dablam.

Standing on the top of Gokyo Ri and Ama Dablam base camp, you can have views of Everest, which lies next to Lhotse, and the views are worth enduring.

If you want to summit Ama Dablam, it requires basic mountaineering skills. But as you prepare yourself accordingly to use crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes, you can have a technical mountain climb in Ama Dablam. Comparatively, the Gokyo Lake trek is relatively beginner-friendly and offers scenery of turquoise lakes and a magnificent sunrise.

Ama Dablam, aka Amai Dablang, is one of the easier peaks to compare in the Everest region. Located in the Mahalangur range, there are certain high-altitude challenges one needs to prepare for in terms of basic mountaineering skills, fitness level, and mental preparation for the same.
